Probably when my grandma and her boyfriend were taking care of me and my little sister because my parents took a weekend away for their anniversary. I was playing warioworld on my gamecube. This was interrupted when when we went to McDonalds for dinner. Then my grandmas boyfriend got in a huge argument with the cashier over what he perceived to be a 5 cent error on his receipt. There was no error. That weekend tainted that game for me and I can never play it without those feelings coming back.

Also when I tried to take my Battle for Middle Earth 2 disc out of the case and it snapped in half.

Figuring out almost two years after getting a new Xbox 360 that instead of starting over on all my games on my new 360 I could have just transferred the data from my old 360's hard drive -.-

Probably from the early '00s when I hooked up my old NES after going a while without playing it, only for it to start to crackle and produce smoke. Burning circuit boards would probably have to be one of the worst smells I've ever experienced (though not necessarily because of that).

I threw my GBA SP across my room into a wall because I was losing a contest in Pokemon Ruby, though it still works

So, in Pokémon Emerald there was that one place called 'Battle Frontier', correct?
There was a facility called the 'Battle Factory' where you pretty much select three out of six random competitive Pokémon to battle against three other random Pokémon in battles.
One of the Pokémon that was offered to me was a shiny Beautifly, one of the two final evolution of Wurmple. I didn't know what shiny Pokémon were at the time, but after I figured out salt levels were rising, because you weren't able to get these Pokémon since they were only rentals.
Got myself one in Pokémon Diamond though.

I got more stories, but they are all pretty much 'Mon™ related.
Per example, my Pokémon Black 2 cartridge died at some point for no reason, alongside my older sister's creatures.

I got stuck in both FF: Tactics and FFX for the same reason: they were oh-so-cleverly designed to prevent grinding right before a particular boss battle, so if you hadn't leveled enough then you had to completely start the entire game over (because it's not like they could've warned you beforehand that if you saved, you were fucked). It was pretty ridiculous that this was even possible to begin with, but both times it was about halfway through the game so playing them was a pretty massive waste of time. Some of the other FF titles had piqued my interest but I honestly don't trust the others to not pull the same shit, so I've passed on the rest of the series.

I feel this. I think everyone who gets into JRPGs has to learn the importance of rotating saves to avoid this (and curse any game with limited save slots). When I first played FFX I was around ten years old and got stuck on Evrae. If I had to guess I'd say it was the boss you got stuck on too because it's a notoriously hard boss about halfway through the game. Too low leveled to beat it and with no way to return to a previous area or save that was the end of my adventure. Game stuck. I didn't return to beat FFX until years later.

I was in middle school. I was playing Pokémon Red on the Super Gameboy (It looks like a SNES cartridge that you can put Gameboy games into to play on the TV). I was in the post game, trying to catch some Pokémon that I missed on Cinnabar Island.

My sister's friend was visiting. They decided that they wanted to annoy me, so they pushed the reset button on the SNES... and they did it as I was in the middle of saving my game. My entire file was corrupted, and was unusable. I had to restart from scratch.

This is a more recent memory, but I was playing Saints Row 3 with a friend after he gifted me the game due to us having a blast on SR2. We were playing it co-operatively and we were on the final mission. We have been playing for a week now, and when I went to load the save, "Error: Your save file has been corrupted". At that point I was bashing my head againsed the table, quite literally, and my friend was in a call with me.

I never knew how frustrating a simple error message could have on me in comparison to getting a broken PC port working.

Sidenote: Rip SR2 pc multiplayer.

Probably the time I used $20 worth of keys in TF2 to open crates, and got jack shit for it. Fortunately, though, I ended up unboxing a $70 unusual hat a year or two later, so it wasn't entirely a bad experience.

I was at least in 3rd grade and had recently beaten Yoshi's Island on GBA, really close to 100%. I had a friend over and let him play the game for a little bit. He thought files that said Clear didn't have anything on them so he erased them. Got so upset I hid under the table and then escaped to my room, hid the game so I never had to see it again.
I came back to it about two years later when I was better at games so I did eventually 100% it if makes things any better.

Let me tell you about shutting your game off in a completely different town in the first Animal Crossing game. Really sent chills down my spine. It was also night time. I was scared for weeks. Looking it up would be best, but it basically empties your pocket and gives you a gyroid face. Resetti is just there like "I warned you about this bro".

Also, the very final boss in Donkey Kong Country 2 is tough as balls. A long time ago, I got so frustrated that I bit my shirt and tore a decent hole in it. After that, I knew I just had to stop and pretend nothing happened. I didn't want my mom to know I tore one of my shirts over a video game.

I borrowed my neighbors copy of Final Fantasy X, it was the disc only so I couldn't put it anywhere, so I put it on my bed for the time being
And you see, when I'm done doing everything I have to do, I usually run and then jump onto my bed and relax or play games, right?
The game was still there. It broke in a couple pieces. Luckily the neighbor never asked for it back

Another time I was like 5 and I got mad at mario kart 64 multiplayer so I threw the controller and broke the R or L button.

I was also seriously afraid of Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, because there was creepy whispering in some secret areas.

The last thing I can recall is a time my copy of Pokemon Diamond managed to get into the washing machine.Luckily it was alright, but it was quite a scare.

Not the worst, but I still remember it sometimes and I laught a lot.

When i was a kiddo, I was playing with my older cousin Smash Bros. Melee in his house; he left for a moment and I deleted his save with all the characters and stages, he didn't even notice that half the roster was gone, lol.

When I was a kiddo, I deleted my Wind Waker save just before the Alter Ganon fight, that's why I haven't beated that game yet.
And a couple of weeks ago I deleted my save of Dark Souls 2: SotFS because I pressed the delete save button by error and then the Accept button...

Asking for Batman Forever for the Sega Genesis. I pick this trash over something good like Sonic 3, Vector Man, Gunstar Heroes, or Rocket Knight Adventures?

The Sega Activator. It never worked.

My X-Box 360 getting a RRoD. And this is what put me off from Microsoft's consoles for life.

Okay, I have two for you. :D

1.) Once, when I had OoT on 3ds I was on mirror mode, because I had beaten the game. But anyway, I was at the Goron Temple level, and I remember that I got so mad at the first part of it that I threw my 3ds at the wall. It broke, obviously, and I regret it to this day.

2.) This is a short one, but it's as god as the last one. About 2-3 months ago, I was doing the Easter Egg for Der Eisendrache on Bo3 Zombies with my friends. We were almost at the boss fight, which is good, but then my brother turned my XB1 off on me. (This same thing happened two more times by the way.)

I had the same thing happen with FF7, during my first playthrough of it; I was outside of the last boss of disc 2, with my party's resources being completely drained after the previous battle, and unfortunately, at a point where I was unable to backtrack to an earlier area to restock on potions, as I knew I could pull it off if I could just buy more items. This is roughly 3\4 through the game, which made it all the more frustrating that I was forced to start over from the beginning, although I did that anyway shortly after.

I've got a pretty damn awful one. Not too long ago either.
Back when little big planet came out, I fell in love with it.
Got the money together and bought it.
I didn't own a PS3, but my dad did.
He kept it in the living room, so I could only play it when he wasn't home.
I was okay with this, because I loved the game so much.
Making levels is where it was at for me.
Get home from school one day, and my parents were gone.
So I start on my game.
Making a level.
Loving it so so much.
It's almost perfect.
7 hours pass and mom and dad get home.
I go outside to help my mom out of the car. (She's got MS, and is in a wheel chair.
Step onto the porch and I notice through a window that the light coming from the tv has stopped.
I come back into the house to find out... my power has gone out.
Level Gone, Heart Broken, And a whole lot of work to redo.
Probably have something worse then that, but that was the first thing that popped into my head.
